Bataan Day..... A day to remember, a day that will forever stay in some people's memory, specially for those who serve in the World War II: a day when Filipino and American heroes who bravely fought side by side for the defense of the last province of the Philippines to surrender to the mighty forces of the Japanese Imperial Army; and a day when people of two nations will commemorate Bataan Day!
A BRIEF HISTORY
The Province of Bataan, Republic of the Philippines, figured prominently in history when it became the last bastion of resistance of the United States Allied Forces of the Far East (USAFFE) and its Asian allies against the Japanese Imperial Army during the 2nd World War.Bataan is where Filipino soldiers, side by side with their American counterparts against the Japanese superior force, fought fierce battle to the last man. Then Bataan fell and eventually surrendered on April 9, 1942. Hence Bataan is remembered for the epic struggle Filipino and American soldiers had put up to uphold the ideals of freedom and liberty.
